Where does change come from?
Where does change come from?
In his book, Real-Life Discipleship, Jim Putman writes: “God doesn’t want us just going through the motions; He is pleased when what we do comes from a changed heart.” But where does change come from? How do we know if we have really achieved it? What is God’s role? What role do we play? Putman lists several categories with Scriptures beneath them that help answer these questions. I have included Putman’s outline, complete with Scripture references, so you can study them in order to see for yourself what God says about change. I want to encourage you to take several minutes to read all the verses and think through them and pray about the changes God wants you to make. Henry Blackaby used to say, “You can’t stay the way you are and go with God.” The life of the Christian is a life of change. God wants us to change into the image of his Son, Jesus.
